ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Ever wanted to know how to beautifully capture snippets of video with your DSLR?  

Well, you have come to the right place. In this workshop you will learn to master your DSLR using video. Yes, the very same camera you use to take still photography is capable of creating an Emmy Award winning film! Capturing even just 4-5 second small snippets of video and incorporating it into your clients slideshow really adds a whole new dimension.  Theres just something about adding movement and sound that brings those images to life. 

As a photographer who transitioned my business to primarily films in the past few years, I have gained many valuable lessons and learned so much about filmmaking and want to share my tricks of the trade with you. After two years of workshops, seminars, mentorships, google searches, tutorials, etc, and basically learning by trial and error and making a million mistakes, I have so much to share and I can’t wait to share what I have learned with you! 

 

WORKSHOP TOPICS COVERED

  1. Prep: gear essentials, shot lists

  2. Shooting: camera settings, frame rates, stabilization, focusing, composition, lighting, camera movements, audio capture

  3. Music licensing

  4. Editing: organizing clips, color correcting, pacing, export settings

 

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

  1. A basic knowledge of capturing beautiful video with your DSLR to create fusion videos.
  2. Overview of the workshop in PDF including my personal gear list and sample shot list.
  3. Two-hour mentorship with Sweet Rain Media, either on-location or in-studio training ($300 value)

12:00-12:30 Lunch

12:30-2:00 watch me shoot, and student hands-on shooting a model family at a photo shoot

3:00-6:00 watch me edit, see finished product

In 2013 I started incorporating video snippets into my photography business, and it was such a hit with clients. I just couldn’t get enough!  Later that year I rebranded my photography business to incorporate films and become Sweet Rain Media.
